Caraga intensifies police operations
Caraga region cops arrested a total of 123 individuals amid the intensified police operations against illegal drugs and wanted persons in different municipalities of the region.
PNP Caraga director, Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz, who assumed his post on September 11, has directed the unit commanders to double their efforts in the conduct of law enforcement functions and public safety services.
Based on the data from the Regional Operations and Plans Division, 60 drug personalities fell to the drug enforcement units during the conduct of 64 police operations from September 1121, 2018.
A total of 47.76grams of shabu and 94.95grams of marijuana were also confiscated from the suspects’ possession.
Also, 63 wanted persons were also nabbed by the police regionwide. The operations were based on the strength of warrant of arrest issued by the local courts.
Aside from those figures against illegal drugs and wanted persons, his first 10 days were also marked with these accomplishments: foiled NPA atrocities in Brgy. San Mateo, Butuan City on September 18; and the police raid in the residence of Vice Mayor Jenry E. Montante of Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte on September 20 which yielded to his arrest and confiscation of high-powered firearms and grenades.
The aggressive drive against loose firearms had also made significant strides resulting in the arrest of 10 suspects and confiscation of 21 loose firearms.
“We will impose the full force
of the law to arrest those wanted persons and other individuals involved in illegal activities. I call on all the members of the community, Local Government Units, other government agencies and all stakeholders to help the police force in making Caraga safer and more peaceful,” Cruz said.
