Oca: Opposition wants to isolate me
Mayor Moreno says his partymates were handpicked based on commitment and partnership
City Mayor Oscar Moreno over the weekend said there were efforts of the opposition to dismember his team, by attempting to invite particularly District 1 Representative Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy to the opposition party.
Moreno said he was not surprised of these efforts, pointing out that the opposition’s main goal is to isolate him.
“As you know, Dongkoy’s group (former mayor Vicente Emano), daghan man na siya ug lumilihok (he has many members), it’s not surprising to approach Vice Mayor Kikang to draw him to them, there were many who attempted to get Congressman Klarex,” he said.
“To the extent nga maminusan akong sakop (to lessen my members), dili baya ko known for style ni Dongkoy nga alagaran idominar iyang sakop (I’m not like Dongkoy that dominates his members), for me it’s partnership, not dominance,” he said.
Vice Mayor Joaquin “Kikang” Uy has earlier admitted that former vice mayor Ian Acenas visited him to try to invite him to join the opposition party.
Uy, however, said he rejected this offer saying that the “courtship was not enough” to sway him as he is already in love with the mayor.
Moreno also gushed about Agusan barangay
chieftain Andrew Emano Milleza, who will run for councilor under his party.
Moreno said Milleza’s surname does not matter him, as he is only after the partnership and the person’s commitment.
“One might tend to underestimate him kay kapitan, but ang importante diha ang passion, imong commitment, maayo man iyang pagdala sa Agusan, he’s a good orchestrator, ang iyang apelyido does not matter to me, what I am after is our partnership, a member of the team,” Moreno added.
