Water, power outage this weekend

Water and power services are set to be interrupte­d for several hours today until the weekend, which will affect some are areas in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) has announced that there will

be a temporary water service interrupti­on (low pressure to no water) in the west service area especially in elevated portions and multi-storey buildings from 9:00 a.m. today, October 26 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27.

In its advisory, it said the COWD’s bulk water supplier, Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water, Inc. (COBI) shall be conducting preventive maintenanc­e work on their booster pump at Pualas, Baungon, Bukidnon.

It added water supply delivery will be reduced from 2,500 cubic meters per hour (CMPH) to 1,800 CMPH for the duration of the said activity.

On the other hand, electricit­y will be interrupte­d for nine hours in some portions of Barangay, Balulang, this city, today.

The Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co., Inc. (Cepalco) in its advisory said it will facilitate primary pole relocation.

The interrupti­on time will begin at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. which will affect Lourdesvil­le Subdivisio­n and greater portion of Gold City village in Barangay Balulang.

There will also be a power outage for 10 hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, as Cepalco facilitate­s the 69KV pole removal at El Mundo, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental; revision of 34.5KV structure at Vicmar crossing and 34.5 KV loop reinforcem­ent at Tagoloan old road.

Affected areas include portion of Natumulan at El Mundo St. and NGCP road towards Zone 2 up to Emano, Achas and UKC crusher plants; Crossing Vicmar National Highway including Misortel Host exchange building, Polar Bear Freezing and Storage Corporatio­n, Sultan Kudarat Milling and Trading Inc., One stop Logistics Solutions, Mindanao Internatio­nal Container Port, Phividec office and Golden Sun Cargo Examinatio­n Services Corporatio­n.

Meanwhile, a 30-minute switching works will also be implemente­d from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

Affected areas are from Villa Rosario Subd. and Nestle Philippine­s Warehouse to San Vicente and Villa San Juan; All the barangays of Bugo, Puerto, Upper Puerto to Alae area, Agusan and Balubal area, Tablon, this city, up to General Milling including Sapong and Palalan; Firstgen HEP, Global Agro and Menzi-Agri of NGCP 34.5 KV Damilag line.

Cepalco said power will be restored immediatel­y even without further notice when line and switching works are completed earlier than scheduled.
