Another suspected drug personality was killed while a government employee was arrested in a separate antiillegal drug operations in Cagayan de Oro City, Wednesday, November 7.

Police killed Jeremi Paderan Jr. alias “Along”, resident of District 6, Consolacion, this city in what the police claimed to be a drug buy-bust.

Again, authorities insisted the suspect fought back (nanlaban) which resulted to an armed confrontation.

Police investigation disclosed that the suspect, who was on board a motorcycle with a companion, delivered a sachet of suspected shabu (Methamphetamine hydro-chloride) to an undercover policeman.

But, when the suspect’s companion sensed that they were dealing with the police, he immediately fled leaving the target suspect in the area.

The suspect allegedly fired his 38 caliber revolver, forcing the backup operatives to retaliate hitting the suspect thrice on the body.

He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead shortly.

Investigators recovered the suspect’s gun and three sachets of suspected meth in the area.

Superintendent Mardy Hortillosa II, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), said the evidences including the gun will be turned over to the court.

“Kanang mga armas nga makuha sa mga suspek i-present na sa korte dili na makuha pagbalik sa pulis or else makasuhan ang police ana,” he said.

Hortillosa said Paderan was figured in the Director for Intelligence (DI) list and was the 12th drug suspect killed in the city.

On the other hand, a worker of the Land Transportation Office-Northern Mindanao (LTO-10) survived and was arrested alive in the drug bust launched by the anti-narcotics agents in Bulua, this city.

Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) arrested Michael Rey Laureta, LTO’s transportation regulation officer after he allegedly delivered sachets of suspected shabu.

Suspect will face drug charges.
