TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
By: EDWIN V. PALMA Principal II
Transformational Leadership is an approach that cause change in individual and social change. It requires being “outside in and ‘ inside out”. It starts with a deep understanding of the severity of the problem. As a transformational leader, you should know how to inspire, motivate and challenge your followers. You should know how to direct them to the purpose of the school and drive them to the attainment of the schools vision and mission. Transformational leader creates significant change in the life of the people and organization, redesign perceptions and values and changes a expectations and aspirations of people. Based on my experience, the thing that I have done in my school as a transformational leader was when I was assign in my school as school head, the stakeholders MI were not cooperative as that. They are not supportive to the III programs and projects of the school. Like the implementation of Brigada Eskwela, I have a hard time implementing this program to them. Only few parents will be attending and helping the school during Brigada. What I did was I called a meeting and explain to them the importance of this program after this they started to . Cooperate gradually until such time that they were able to understand the purpose of the program with the help of the media wherein they are able to watch what other schools are doing during Brigada Eskwela and now I am happy that almost 100% of the parents are attending this activity which is done usually during the month of May.
