THE YOUTH training and employment project, Youthworks PH, will be conducting a recruitment and career workshop on Monday, April 8, for interested high school graduates.

According to Youthworks PH Chief of Party Karol Mark Yee, they are expecting more than a hundred high school graduates to attend the career workshop and to be recruited for their work-based training program.

In partnership with Oro Geometric Builders and Cagayan de Oro Technical Vocational Institute (CDO VI), the skills training and workshop will be held at CDO VI in Zone 2, Agusan, this city from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“Our goal for this activity if that for more of our youth to be able to know about Youth

works and the many opportunities we can provide through our projects. Second, for us to be able to recruit who are interested to get into the workbased training program that we developed between the CDO IV and Oro Geometrics,” Yee said.

He added that they also aim to help and support out of school youth or youth who are currently not in education and training in their search for employment.

Yee said the participants should be 18 to 24 years old, who are currently not employed and not enrolled in college.

“We want to be able to be able to cater to this group because they are the ones who are not yet very well supported, that we can help them get the opportunity to further their goals,” Yee said.

“Hopefully we can get them to apply to our program but even if they don’t end up going to work-based training, may mapupulot pa rin sila (they will still learn things) from the program,” he added.

During the workshop, the participants will be taught how to make presentable and betterlooking resumes, give tips for future job interviews, and other career guidance that can help them land jobs.
