THE traffic personnel who was involved in an altercation with an ambulance driver was relieved from his post pending the results of the investigation.

Doy Ramiro, Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) administra

tion officer-designate, said it is standard operating procedure to relieve any of its personnel from street duties if they are under investigation.

Ramiro said traffic enforcer Lee Bersano will now report to the RTA office.

“We will give the traffic enforcer due process before we decide anything,” he said.

Ramiro said they are currently getting from both sides, the traffic enforcer and the ambulance driver whom they already met with yesterday.

Ramiro refused to reveal more details of the meeting while they are still gathering more information.

Meanwhile, City Administrator Teddy Sabuga-a said Mayor Oscar Moreno has already formed an investigating body for the incident last Saturday that had since gone viral in social media.

“But certainly, there will be no whitewash if proven na aduna siyay kasaypanan,” was Sabuga-a’s reassuring words.

The video showed the traffic enforcer and ambulance driver in an altercation along CM Recto Avenue. The video which reached millions of views and reactions, has already been taken down by the Facebook user.

“Ang marching order ni mayor Moreno, magbuo og investigating body para masuta unsa ang nahitabo. Daghan batikos, pero wala magtugkad unsa ang hitabo,” he said.

Sabuga-a, however, urged the public to refrain from jumping into conclusions since the matter is already being investigated.

He said they hope to finish the probe within the week.
