Padayon denies hand over fake Comelec reso's release

- By PJ Orias

THE camp of local political party, Padayon Pilipino-Centrist Democratic Party (PadayonCDP) coalition, has denied that the organization is the source of the fake Commission on Elections (Comelec) resolution that said to strip off the candidacy of incumbent Cagayan de Oro mayor Oscar Moreno.

SNicole Managbanag, Padayon-CDP communications head, who shared a copy of the document to the reporters, however, clarified that the document did not come from her directly.

She also denied that reports that the fake resolution came from Jose Gabriel "Pompee" La Viña, as accused by his political rivals.

Meanwhile, Moreno advised supporters to stay focused amid the proliferation of fake news thrown at him.

Moreno, in the miting de avance of their party Friday night, said he expects more attacks as the election day nears.

"Pasagdi nalang, wala man gihapon silbi, kapoy man tumpangan. I don't want to go down to his level," Moreno said of his rival Pompee La Viña.

"Posible sunod adlaw ang balita namatay ako, sunod adlaw nabuang ko, so let us stay focused and let him be, let him do his worst," Moreno said.

On Friday night, a supposed Comelec document has made rounds of social media, which stated that Moreno's certificate of candidacy was cancelled, thus disqualifying him from the mayoralty race.

But the document was immediately debunked by Comelec Commissioner Luie Tito Guia, in a text to reporters last night, confirming that the document

was a fake resolution. William Guialani, meanwhile, the petitioner of the supposed document, said that Councilor Leon Gan’s staff picked up the document from the post office here in Cagayan de Oro Friday afternoon. He was in Manila at the time.

He said the mail, addressed to him, came from Comelec-Intramuros.

Guialani also stands by the veracity of the Comelec document.

“Fake ang tubag niya, mutuo gihapon ko nga tinuod kadto kay gikan gud to sa Comelec,” he said.
