Likely winners in province, city
INCUMBENT officials are expected to return for another three--year term, while there were also new faces, and "returnees," in the local legislative and executive branches that caused a surprise win in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental province after the elections.
In the city, poised to win for the mayoral race is incumbent City Mayor Oscar Moreno, Raineir Joaquin "Kikang" Uy for Vice
Mayor; Rolando “Klarex Uy” for 1st district representative, and returnee Rufus Rodriguez as the 2nd district representative.
Top councilors in the first district include Inday Dahino, Jay Pascual, Roger Abaday, Zaldy Ocon, George Goking, Lordan Suan, Reuben Daba, and Romeo Calizo.
Top second district councilors include Girlie Balaba, Malou Gaane, Ian Nacaya, Suzette Daba, Bong Lao, Eric Salcedo, Bebot Rodriguez, and Edgar Cabanlas.
With the exception of the Rodriguezes, and Suan who belong to the local Padayon Pilipino-Centrist Democratic Party, the rest of the winning candidates belong to the local
Partido Demokratikong PilipinoLakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
On Tuesday afternoon, the elder Uy, and his son, has submitted a petition to the city Commission on Elections (Comelec), that asked the Board of Election Canvassers to lower the threshold of 95 percent, so that winning candidates will be proclaimed on the same day.
As of 5:35pm, May 14, the Comelec servers said that Cagayan de Oro votes have already transmitted around 96.5 percent.
Provincial likely winners Meanwhile, as of 3:00 pm, Tuesday, re-electionist Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano is still on the lead with a difference of around 50,000 votes from his rival Julio Uy.
For the vice-gubernatorial race, Emano’s running mate and brother-in-law President Elipe
was behind from his opponent Jigjag Pelaez with a difference of around 28,000 votes.
Neophyte Christian Unabia and re-electionist Juliet Uy were also ahead of their opponents Joey Pelaez and Benjo Benaldo for the congressional race in the first and second district, respectively.
Candidates under Emano’s Padayon Pilipino party also dominated the provincial board seats.
Among the top five in the first district were Padayon bet Win Militante, Jerry Khu (UNA), Erik Khu (PDPLBN), Bebing Dumadag (PDPLBN) and Enteng Pelaez (PDPLBN), while Padayon candidates Saysay Emano, Nancy Madjos, Boboy Sabal and Dexter Yasay and Jessa Mugot (NUP) made it to the top five for the second district.
