Gingoog VM: Our alliance with Bambi will not stop

- By Alwen Saliring

GINGOOG City ViceMayor-elect Peter Unabia over the weekend said the alliance between his group and the Padayon Pilipino Party led by reelected Governor Yevgeny Emano will be continued in the province.

He said the political ties between him and Emano will not end in the midterm elections but will continue to better serve the people of the province.

“Our alliance with Bambi will not stop but will continue. Dako og tabang ang atong alyansa,” Unabia said.

Unabia made the statement after the oath taking ceremony of winning candidates under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and Padayon Pilipino of the province’s first district at the Amaya View in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City, last Sunday.

The oath taking rites was administered by Judges Dennis Alcantar and Cesar Merlas.

However, Unabia said the governor begged off until the 40 days of his late father, former Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano.

“Ang uban wala kay walay siguro time gu ang uban nagpahulay. Si Gov. Bambi nag beg off kay until 40 days ni Mayor Dongkoy ayha ra siya mogawas,” Unabia said.

Unabia acknowledged that his alliance with the Padayon Pilipino in the first district contributed to the victory of the most PDP-Laban candidates in the municipalities.

He also said the respect he gained from the winning mayors and other elected town officials was also a factor to the victory of his son, congressmanelect Christian Unabia of the first district.

“Nakuha nako ang support sa mga mayors because of the respect that I gained in my 9 years as representative,” Unabia said.

“Kusog ang atong grupo karon,” he added.

Unabia said among his priorities as top official of the city council of Gingoog is to revisit the ordinances and ensure that legislative measures passed are for the welfare of the people.

He said some councilors in the opposition have signified intention to join the administration.

Unabia, however, said the city council will work closely with the executive branch headed by mayor-elect Erick Canosa, to effectively deliver the best services the people of Gingoog City deserve.

“We will convince the opposition to join us para sa kalamboan sa Gingoog pinaagi sa atong GOLD program uban ni Mayor Erick nga mao ang Good governance, opportunities for agriculture and tourism, livelihood

development and implementation and delivery of basic services of health, education and social services,” Unabia said.
