Public HIV testing set

A MASS HIV testing is set to be conducted on June 15 by Kagay-an Plus Inc. in commemorat­ion of the National HIV Screening Day.

Spearheade­d by LoveYourse­lf and in partnershi­p with the Kagay-an Plus Inc., Hot Nurses of Pinas is a one-day activity conducted at Oro PIA Lounge that features good-looking nurses that advocates HIV testing to the community, especially to the key population.

A follow up to last year’s Hot Doctors of Pinas in November, the volunteer nurses for the activity will be the one to do the pricking while the members of the Kagay-an Plus and a doctor will also be there to help.

“Hopefully, maingganyo namo ang mga (we can invite) key population, most especially the MSM (men who have sex with men) and transgende­r, nga magpa (who will undergo) test on June 15 for this event,” Enrique Niño Patricio, executive director of Kagay-an Plus, said.

The mass testing, apart from encouragin­g people to visit Oro PIA to be tested for HIV, is also to promote community centers that caters to people living with HIV from all over the country.

Kagay-an Plus (Preserving Life Uniting Society) Inc. is a non-government organizati­on that responds to human rights, HIV and Aids issues and concerns in Cagayan de Oro City and Northern Mindanao.
