AFTER nearly two weeks in the hospital, Cagayan de Oro City police director Nelson Aganon passed away inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Polymedic Medical Plaza, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday. He was 46.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynante Reyes, officer-in-charge of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), said Aganon did not survive when his attending physician tried to revive him 15 times around 2:00 p.m. yesterday.

"As we monitored him the previous days, normal

naman vital signs niya but due to some complications wala na siya ka survive. At 2:00 p.m. nag start ang revival at 15 times pero at the 15th time wala na niya nakayanan," Reyes told reporters.

Aganon was hospitalized and underwent surgery after he was figured in a motorcycle crash during motorcycle riding course in Camp Evangelista, Patag, this city last May 22.

He sustained severe head injuries after the motorcycle he was riding took a nosedive while performing a motorcycle jump practice.

Prior to his assignment here, he served as a former member of the Special Action Force; former battalion commander of the Police Regional Office in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PROARMM); former spokesperson of Police Regional Office-3 and has experience leading city and provincial police offices in Luzon.
