Fashion meet

- Usman D. Macarambon

When you think of the word "fashion," what comes into mind? Do you think about outrageous outfits? Cocktail dresses? Tranksuits?

Whatever your impressions of fashion are, it is obvious that it plays an important role in today’s society and it start with the couture house.

Working with the Queen of Mindanaoan Fashion, a lot of ideas where expressed and conceptualized to the point that it takes too long to finally get and gain inspirations. I myself as her personal architect, visiting the shop for the very first time gave the first impression was “Oh mura jud syag balay.” Honestly speaking, looking at the shop along the street of Recto Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro, I see sort of implicit and this has to adorn anytime in a way that it will structurally change through dynamic architecture re-calibrating classicism. Through her continuing fascination with history of clothing in Mindanao, the making of new Guela has officially started. As the mastermind of her new couture house it transpired in mind that the long wait is over.

Thus, Guela is the epitome of her perfect spontaneous combinations of what she truly embodies: “elegance and luxury.” Her artfully unexpected mixtures express a new form of luxury in the fashion industry.

Dialogue with the queen: “Personally I'm constantly looking for new and invigorating ideas that suited her embodiment as a person with her wholeheartedly passion and that's what truly complete the entire idea in the making."

When my design meet the interior, it gives a glimpse into one of a kind design that illuminate the unique style and inventiveness of the space.

Guela's couture interiors are a fusion of high quality essence, extravagant and fashionable design.

“I totally make sure that the created design combines classic with contemporary pieces that will give the space trend-setting style. A touch of modern and class luxury amid rich in architectural details that elevates elegance of the space while giving it an of-the-moment appeal. Cleanliness, a simple soothing color pallet, lovely rhetoric crystal chandelier, trend-setting lighting and beautifully crafted furniture design in classic silhouettes highlights and marks the rich space as couture and that's what the new Guela stand for.”

I put a lot of pressure on myself. I think something's not good enough, and I won't stop until I feel like I've made it and together with the kind of boss I have.

I know I impress her so much with the astonishing development of her new couture house. My work with this project is going to fulfill a large part of my life it is indeed challenging in every aspect, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe, is great work.

And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

One thing I’ve learned in this journey: “It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.”
