6 men nabbed for drugs in Carcar, Cordova towns
THREE men were arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay Dapitan, Cordova, Cebu last Friday.
They were identified as Edwin Gilay, 40; Rolly Jumao-as, 21; and Romar Jumao-as, 19.
Seized from their possession were 10 small sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated street value of P2,500, and P400 cash believed to be drug proceeds.
The operation led by Chief Insp. Alvin Balio, the town’s police chief, was conducted at 5:30 p.m. in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7.
At 8:30 p.m., policemen conducted a raid in Sitio Tapon, Barangay Napo, Carcar City after a concerned citizen sought their help over the allegedly rampant selling of shabu in the area.
They arrested Joseph Sitoy, 27; Teotimo Navasca, 24; and Nelson Dayondon, 40.
Fourteen small sachets of shabu were recovered from their possession.
The operation was led by Carcar City Police Station Chief Teodulfo Manatad III.
Several drug-sniffing paraphernalia were also confiscated from the suspects.
Two men, who were not identified, eluded arrest.
The evidences were sent to the Regional Crime Laboratory 7 for examination.
Criminal complaints for allegedly violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the six men.
