SM to celebrate Disability Week Mall branches in Cebu City and Consolacion lined up activities from July 19 to 23 for PWDs
SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion join the whole nation in celebrating the 37th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, with this year’s theme, “Health & Wellness Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Toward an Inclusive Development for All.”
Together with the Organization of Rehabilitative Advocates for Inclusion, different non-government organizations (NGOs), lead agencies, and SM representatives will join the holy mass on July 19, 9 a.m., in SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion.
A lecture-forum on “Strategic Intervention: Sensory Integration for Teachers” is set on July 21, 1 p.m., in SM City Cebu conference hall located at the third level.
On July 22, a symposium on “Disability Awareness & Management” for parents and spouses of PWDs will also happen in SM City Cebu conference hall from 1-5 p.m. Speakers of the symposium will include Cora Clarin, Dr. Tess Chua and Aleli Ngo.
A showcase of talents from different Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) groups and schools will culminate the activity on July 23 at 1 p.m. at the SM City Cebu Event Centre.

SM makes sure its malls are PWD-friendly with more than required ramps, parking slots and Braille signage.
Every year, all staff and tenants get spe- cial training on how to deal with person with special needs. So everyone, especially the differently-abled customers, can have an enjoyable malling experience.
