Japan and Cebu IT companies sign MOU to improve labor force

As a way to promote the enhancemen­t of skills of the Philippine­s’ labor sector, four companies, namely Total OA Systems Co. of Japan, iTech-RAR Solutions Inc. and VocTech Vocational Technologi­cal Training and Assessment Institute of the Philippine­s, together with Simplify Nihongo, signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MOU) on June 20 at Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort.

The first Japan-Cebu IT friendship event was graced by the presence of selected Japanese employees from Total OA Systems Co., who flew all the way from Japan, as well as Filipino web developers and IT profession­als.

The MOU signing was participat­ed by Engr. Andres I. Ralota, Jr., the president and chief executive officer of iTech-RAR Solutions Inc., Alexander Macainag of Simplify Nihongo and Kazuyuki Ikezawa, the president of Total OA Systems Co.

“VocTech Inc. will serve as a venue for IT training and Japanese language training, in partnershi­p with Simplify Nihon- go. iTech-RAR Solutions Inc. will hire trainees from VocTech Inc. while Total OA Systems Co. shall engage iTech-RAR Solutions Inc. with any local or outsourced projects that Total OA will endeavor in the Philippine­s, employing the manpower of iTech-RAR,” said Ralota in his rationale of the event.

After the actual signing of the MOU, the Japanese delegates had an informal interactiv­e session with the Filipino delegates. Games, picturetak­ing and a scrumptiou­s native Filipino lunch were also part of the event’s program.

VocTech Vocational Technologi­cal Training and Assessment Institute of the Philippine­s is set to begin constructi­on in September of this year and have its soft opening in November.
