A talk on interior design was held on June 27 at 32 Sanson by Rockwell. Maybelline Te, a distinguished interior designer, furniture designer and manufacturer imparted her design ideas on how to style and improve the home.

Start off with eye catching pieces like black and white tiles for a unique and distinctive floor idea. With furniture inspiration influenced by fashion, varied schemes will be at hand for interior designing.

Make your space look clean and organized with the perfect shelf. Mix and match collectibles and precious whatnots for a more personalized shelf at home. Color coding is also an excellent idea for designing book shelves. “Experiment and don’t be afraid of playing with colors,” Te said.

Generating the idea of flying colors may be used in a cosmopolitan or sophisticated themed room where a shelf can be one of the statement pieces. To integrate color and design into a room, chandeliers may also be admirable fixtures, espe- cially ones with a distinguishing design.

A bit of pattern won’t hurt. Incorporating patterns into a design adds a little edge to every room. Be creative with patterns, as these can be the key to creating a one-of-a-kind space starting with geometric shapes.

Mixing antique or vintage with modern interiors is called the layering technique. Have fun mixing not only with the genre you want to achieve, but also play by mixing with different patterns in your furni- ture pieces.

Work with different fabrics on your furniture for a diverse selection. Include out-of-the-box pieces like skeletal sculptures, which are on trend right now, and a whole bone collection.

For a good spacing idea, try a dining banquet with flower decorations on the side. Do something simple yet luxurious and beautiful designs while playing with tones and color.
