The Beauty Enthusiast

-

I am constantly curious about what’s new in the beauty market. The beauty market is constantly coming out with new things. It is a vicious cycle that I find myself willingly participating in. However, despite all the new stuff that comes out every day, there have been a few products I’ve been loyal enough to use up til the very end. • Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret body care products are probably in most ladies’ bathrooms. They leave skin super soft and smelling lovely. If you get bored of one fragrance, there’s a couple dozen others to try out. (Don’t forget to cut open tubes of beauty products—there are plenty left to scoop out even if squeezing no longer dispenses product.) • Maybelline Pure Mineral powder foundation is something I’ve been loyal to for years. No other powder foundation has matched the coverage and oil control so far. I will repurchase after I’ve used up a few more powders. • Maybelline Ever Fresh liquid foundation has been discontinued, but there are plenty of other good and affordable foundations by the brand that suit Cebu’s weather. I have had this product for a while but I used it up as there were no side effects (read: breakouts) despite using it past its “best by” date. • Another Maybelline product is the Baby Lips lip balm, which I scraped out the very last bit of. Another effective and budget-friendly pick from the brand. • Tony Moly waterproof eyebrow pencil was excellent for a natural look that wasn’t too waxy, and truly waterproof enough for the beach. My peeve with this is that there’s so little product for its size. You don’t get the full length of the pencil. • Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in Zero. I’ve used up a few of these. A good basic eyeliner that applies smoothly and stays on through yoga class. • Bare Minerals Lash Domination mascara was so-so. Not bad, but not special enough for me to want to repurchase. • Freshian Big Mascara from The Face Shop lasted for ages despite almost daily use for several months. A nice, affordable mascara for a natural look. • NYX Soft Matte lip cream. I’ve used up a couple of tubes in different shades, but you can bet I’ve got backups! My lipstick wardrobe isn’t complete without this.
