Arts and guitar festival wraps up this weekend

Cebu is brimming with musicians and artists alike, and it’s only right to have an event where both are appreciated. SM Seaside City recently launched the Cebu Guitar and Arts Festival, a celebration of homegrown talents that spotlights the invaluable works of Cebu’s guitar makers and visual artists.

This month-long event is participated by the Guitar Foundation of the Philippines Inc. and the UV New School of Art and Design. An exhibit of exquisite string instruments owned by renowned Cebuanos musicians Rio Dumdum and Reginald Bernaldez are on display as well as some unique Philippine-made fiber glass ukuleles from Turtulele.

The UV New School of Art and Design, which was recently awarded the Apple Distinguished Program for 2016-2017, displayed some student-made art which ranges from digital design, photographer, production design and many more.

Cebu Guitar and Arts Festival will be running until the last day of July and is located at the Upper Ground Floor, Mountain Wing Bridgeway. A Design Your Own Ukulele Workshop for kids will be held at the same location on July 31.
