Graika Krisan Abadiano Dael of Talisay City needs more medication at Chong Hua Hospital but bills for medicines, room and laboratory fees are piling up every day

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl who was diagnosed with eye tumor at the age of three, which resulted in losing her left eye, is now appealing to the public for help.

Graika Krisan Abadiano Dael of Talisay City needs more medication at the Chong Hua Hospital but bills for medicines, room and laboratory fees are piling up every day.

A few days ago, the unpaid hospital bills already totalled P104,783.23, excluding doctors’ fees.

Her mother Margie said she no longer knows where to get funds for her daughter’s medical needs.

Graika comes from a poor family and her house is close to Maghaway Elementary School in Talisay City.

Nic McCarthy and Filipino-German Denise Bassler who saw the ordeal of the child decided to help her survive.

McCarthy said that a year after the girl was diagnosed with eye tumor, the cancer spread to Graika’s neck.

McCarthy, his foreigner-friends and Duterte Riders, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who engage in charitable projects, funded Graika’s consultations, biopsies, medicines and the operation to remove the tumor.

McCarthy said the operation was carried out successfully the other day.

McCarthy said they set up “GoFundMe” sites to raise more money.

“I’m fully aware that there are many scams in this world, so I’ve also attached a third photo of a hospital bill to prove that this is not a scam,” McCarthy said.

“Graika now needs cosmetic surgery to cover the massive hole that was her tumor. She’ll then need a course of chemotherapy, and I’d also like to get her a glass eye to replace the one that cancer stole from her,” said McCarthy.
