A 47-YEAR-OLD woman who allegedly sold illegal drugs was arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City, Cebu last Wednesday night.

PO3 Rebocato Gecite identified the suspected drug pusher as Melodina Navarro Dolino, 47.

Dolino presented herself to the police last week during Oplan Tokhang program where she promised not to sell illegal drugs anymore.

After intelligence operatives monitored that the suspect returned to her old ways, the operation to arrest her was cooked up.

The buy-bust happened in her residence in Sitio Baybay 2. Dolino will be charged for violating Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The offense is non-bailable.

At 10:30 a.m. on the same day, a man was found dead with gunshot wounds in the nape and forehead in Barangay Ogu- is, Danao City.

Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, the Danao City police chief, identified the victim as Roy Sepocado Duran, who was found lying in a creek.

The motive of the shooting was not yet determined by the investigators.

The 39-year-old farmer was a resident of the mountain village of Kansi, Tuburan.

His son told the police that Duran was a supporter of Tuburan mayoralty candidate Daphne Lagon.

Batobalonos said the murder is not drug-related because the victim’s name did not surface on the watchlist.

“He was just a plain farmer,” he said in a phone interview.

Investigators will coordinate with the Tuburan Police Station to check the background of the victim.
