Alvarez dominates 210K Ultra
BAYANI Alvarez won the grueling Cebu Southwest 210-kilometer Ultramarathon, which started at the Santander, Cebu Municipal Hall and ended at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City over the weekend.
Alvarez of Spectrum Runners Club finished the 210-kilometer course in 26 hours and 30 minutes. Policeman Brian Guillen of Lapu-Lapu City came second with a time of 28:07. Virgilio Undac was third with 32:48.
The run started in the southernmost part of Cebu, Santander. The runners then passed through Cebu’s western towns and traversed the Transcentral Highway on the way to Cebu City and the finish line at Plaza Independencia.
The race started last Friday at 6.p.m. and the runners were given 46 hours to complete the 210K course.
