Alvarez dominates 210K Ultra

BAYANI Alvarez won the grueling Cebu Southwest 210-kilometer Ultramarat­hon, which started at the Santander, Cebu Municipal Hall and ended at the Plaza Independen­cia in Cebu City over the weekend.

Alvarez of Spectrum Runners Club finished the 210-kilometer course in 26 hours and 30 minutes. Policeman Brian Guillen of Lapu-Lapu City came second with a time of 28:07. Virgilio Undac was third with 32:48.

The run started in the southernmo­st part of Cebu, Santander. The runners then passed through Cebu’s western towns and traversed the Transcentr­al Highway on the way to Cebu City and the finish line at Plaza Independen­cia.

The race started last Friday at 6.p.m. and the runners were given 46 hours to complete the 210K course.
