Belande leads Dragons over Pirates

NINO Belande dropped another stellar performanc­e, scoring 29 points , grabbing 18 rebounds, dishing out five assists and pulling two steals to lead SupportSav­e Dragons to a 99-70 rout over the Blue Ocean Pirates in the Evo League of the 2016 CSCC ELeague Basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Saturday.

SupportSav­e broke the game wide-open after outscoring the Pirates, 29-9 in the third period to pull away from a slim 44-41 halftime break to log its sixth straight win and move closer to the leadership of their division.

Aside from Belande, Janille Bantilan added 23 points and Germaine Guarisma contribute­d with 12 points for the Dragons while Raymond Tan topscored with 27 points, Jobe Boquia had 12 and Agustine Aworuwa finished with 11 points for Blue Ocean's fifth win in six games.

In the other Evo League games, The Results Company Spartans scored its second win after seven outings followin ga 67-56 win over the still winless Atos Falcons with Jonathan Mangubat scoring 26 points for the winner and Reymund Ardiente scoring 18 points for the losers.

Also, the Dyninno Raptors scored its fourth win after eight games following a 91-62 bashing over the winless Titans Teletech.

Dyninno opened the game on a 27-4 note and Teletech failed to come up with better game as they now sank to 0-7.

In the lone, Elite Classic game, the Convergys Converters survived a roller-coaster ride before beating the Wipro Tigers, 66-50.

The Converters used wicked 27- 4 blast in the final quarter to subdue the Tigers who lead 46-39 at the end of the third after dropping a 22- 7 blitz to overhaul a 24- 32 deficit at the half.

Lourenz Limpangog had 13 points and 12 rebounds, Aldene Jay Batino scored 12 and Kenneth Dysam chipped in 10 for Convergys who are now 5-1 while Reinario Salibay was the only player to score in double figures with 26 points for Wipro's sixth straight loss.
