Gaisano Anniversary Run adds twist to event
A NEW concept is expected to add excitement to the 5th edition of the Gaisano Anniversary Run set on Oct. 30 at the Gaisano County Mall parking area in Banilad, Cebu City.
The run, which is part of the 23rd anniversary celebration of Gaisano Country Mall, will be incorporating the bubble and foam theme on the race, which features four categories—the men's and women's 21-kilometer, 15K, 10K and 5K.
“The foam is part of the minor change this year. I have also changed a bit of the route avoiding Fuenta Osmeña because there's traffic there even on weekends,” said race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (Safe) during the press conference yesterday at the Lighthouse Restaurant.
Charmine Suon-Nograles, Store Operations Manager, said that they will be putting up two foam stations on the race. One will be at the starting and finish area, and the second foam station is within the race venue.
Operation Mobilisation (OM) Philippines is the beneficiary of the event for the third year in a row.
Their main work is with children and teens under the partnership with the churches in the country.
During the race, Foodish will be putting up a Food Festival with 35 different merchants at the race venue.
A total of P100,000 cash prizes and raffle prizes will be given away. The organizers are expecting 1,500 participants for this year's edition. All the finishers in the 21K will each receive a medal, while the first 100 runners in the 15K will also get a medal.
Registration fee is at P350 for the 5K, P450 for the 10K, P550 for the 15K and P650 for the 21K inclusive of singlet, snacks, loot bag and raffle ticket.
Registration is now ongoing at the Runnr Store in Ayala Center Cebu and at the customer service of Gaisano County Mall.
