Tablea partners with Foodpanda

ORDERING signature chocolate products and desserts is now possible online after homegrown Tablèa Chocolate Cafè signed a partnershi­p with internatio­nal delivery app Foodpanda last Tuesday to provide ease and accessibil­ity to Tablea’s growing clientele.

According to Russian Honorary Consul Armi Lopez Garcia, the chief executive officer of Tablèa Chocolate Cafè, tapping the food delivery app is part of the company’s growth plans as it hopes to pass on drinking cacao chocolate, which has been a part of the Filipino tradition for decades, to the younger generation.

“We want to bring our Tablèa products closer to customers. We want to bring them to your offices, homes, parties and conference­s because are now a click away through Foodpanda delivery,” said Garcia in a press conference at its newly renovated JY Square Lahug branch.

At present, Tablèa has two branches located in JY Square and in Dipolog City. It has a commissary cafe in Mandaue City.

“Tablea is not just a product but a time machine, a vehicle that brings us back to so many memories,” said Bayani Jess Lopez Garcia, corporate secretary of Tablèa Chocolate Cafe, adding that the partnershi­p with Foodpanda will allow them to reach out to the younger market who are now more exposed to cakes, candies and other modern desserts.

“We wanted to ensure that our products will reach areas we couldn’t reach” he said.

For a minimum of P300 worth of orders, Foodpanda can bring Tablèa drinks and pastries to its customers in areas cov- ered within the six-kilometer radius from the restaurant. Customers, though, need to download the Foodpanda app first in their mobile devices to avail of the delivery service. The app is available for Windows, Android and iOS systems.

Foodpanda is a global online delivery service present in 54 countries. The online delivery app, which has presence in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu has about 300 partner food establishm­ents combined, majority of which are homegrown establishm­ents.

Tablèa Chocolate Cafè has its roots in Filipino tradition and in time-honored family recipes and is the brainchild of Aya Garcia-Schlachter, who was influenced by the culinary artistry of her mother and entreprene­urial vision of her father.

The cafè specialize­s in serving tablèabase­d food and drinks from cakes and pastries to hot chocolate and frios. Among the cafè’s popular baked products are the Tres Tablèas Cake and the Chocolate con Churros.

Its newest product line is the Tablèa Mixes, which are now supplied to restaurant­s, cafès and bakeries in Manila.
