Lee nabs 2nd in Cagayan, qualifies to Milo nat’ls

-

CEBUANO runner Prince Joey Lee pulled off a personal best time to snag second place in the Milo Marathon-Cagayan de Oro City Leg yesterday.

Lee, a member of the Spectrum Runners Club, clocked 1 hour, 12 minutes and 27 seconds to walk away with an unexpected podium finish. He also clinched an all-expense paid ticket to the Milo Marathon national finals on Dec. 4 in Iloilo City.

Lee finished the qualifying leg almost two minutes better than his previous best of 1:14:15. He crossed the finish line next to the eventual champion Keenan Lou Caburnay of Bukidnon, who timed 1:11:25. Bryan Quiamco settled for third place with 1:14:32.

“My target was only to qualify and get the 1:14 time, I never expected to be in the podium and finish with a new personal best,” saud Lee.
