What made it more enticing was that the organizers charged no entry fee to all players.

Two, the tournament is divided into two categories: the Boys and Girls 15 and under category and the Boys and Girls 10-under category.

Cash prizes will be given to the top five finishers in each category, along with chess clocks, chess sets, trophies, medals and minor appliances.

Cepca is inviting players from schools, such as Marie Ernestine School, University of San Carlos, University of San Jose-Recoletos and other private schools, while public schools are also invited to join this one-of-akind event that is supported by Boojie Lim, former Cebu City mayor Alvin Garcia, Raffy Bensi, Engr. Edilberto Velarde, Glenda Tatoy and Denster Abella.
