Bluewater Maribago presents Balay Parol
Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort continues its tradition in recognizing charitable institutions that provide shelter and hope to those under its care. Last Nov. 18, the annual Balay Parol (House of Christmas Lanterns) was lit up to welcome the holiday season of joy for all and signal its firm commitment to sustain local communities and the less fortunate. Through the resort’s charitable “12 Days of Christmas” project, the event honored the kids of Albert Schweitzer Famil- ienwerk Foundation Philippines Inc., Hugpa Day Care Center and Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries.
The Balay Pasko celebration was headed by Bluewater’s Kerbasi Ugarte and the resort’s general manager, together with city tourism chief officer Hembler Mendoza. Homegrown talents like the Angelicus Children’s Choir and Vispop 4.0 grand champion Joseph Gara added to the Christmas spirit as they regaled guests with angelic and heartwarming performances. A Dinner for a Cause followed with sumptuous and fresh selections that mimic a local fishing village.
The special celebration is an open invitation for guests, families and friends to visit Bluewater Maribago and witness the bedazzling parols that brightly light its gardens. As am- bassadors of culture, the resort features the simple lantern that symbolizes the warmth and love of the Filipino Christmas.
This signals also the various holiday offerings to spice up the season. One can visit the Balay Pasko (House of Sweets and Gifts) where one can indulge in delightful homemade and local sweet treats perfect for sharing and gifts. Other heritage experiences include SimbangGabi, NocheBuena (December 24) and 2017 NYE Bash. Kids can join in Dolpo Kids Club Christmas activities: Kids Helping Kids, Decorate Your Own Super-Sized Holiday Cookie, Kids Goodnight Treats, Dolpo Photobooth Contest, Kool Kakanins and many more. One may stay, relax and enjoy special packages and immerse in amuma, a Filipino brand of service and experience.
Bluewater Resorts in Panglao also showcased its Balay Parol last Nov. 25 while Sumilon will have its turn on Dec. 5.
