AN ALLEGED hitman and courier of slain suspected drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz was arrested in Barangay Basak San Nicholas, Cebu City yesterday dawn.

Elements of the City Intelligence Branch and the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (Caidsotg) were serving three arrest warrants on 36-year-old Joselito Tecson around 2 a.m.

According to Senior Insp. Narrolf Tan, Caidsotg chief, the suspect did not resist arrest.

“Wala mi nakuha nga drugs, illegal firearms or explosives gikan niya pero naa man siya’y tulo ka kaso so iya nang atubangon (We didn’t confiscate any drugs, illegal firearms or explosives from him but he has three pending cases he needs to face in court),” Tan said.

Charges

Tecson was charged with selling illegal drugs and with illegal possession of firearms.

Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 57 Judge James Himalaloan issued the warrant for the drug charges, while RTC Branch 16 Judge Sylva Paderanga issued the warrant for the firearms charges.

Tan said Tecson refuses to talk about his alleged involvement in Diaz’s illegal operations, saying he has no knowledge of them.

Authorities were after him for two month before he was captured.

“He kept on moving. He had been hiding. But we’re happy that he’s finally in police custody,” Tan said in Cebuano.

Tecson will be turned over to the court within the week.

In another operation, police arrested 36-year-old Roselyn Navarro in Sitio Caduloy, Barangay Tisa.

She allegedly yielded 10.68 grams of shabu with an estimated worth of P126, 024.

Navarro will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002. Carcar arrest Last Friday afternoon, a suspected big-time drug pusher and two of his cohorts were arrested in Carcar City.

Some 16 operatives went to Felixberto “Kano” Dayangco’s house in Barangay Poblacion 2 around 5 p.m. to serve a warrant issued by RTC Branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises.

PO3 Rosendo Binondo told Sun.Star Cebu that Dayangco tried to escape.

“He tried to jump from his room but we had surrounded his house,” Binondo said in Cebuano.

David Garcia, 41, and Dexter Rallos, 47 were also arrested after police seized from them three small and two small sachets of shabu, respectively.

Police confiscated a .38 revolver with two live bullets, a .22 revolver with four live bullets and three live bullets from a .357 revolver from Dayangco’s house.
