NBI official relieved for drug links
NBI 12 Director Eric Augusto Isidro, former NBI 7 assistant director, under investigation for his alleged involvement in a shabu laboratory in Catanduanes
THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 12 director has been relieved from office for his alleged involvement in a shabu laboratory in Catanduanes.
Atty. Eric Augusto Isidoro, who used to be the assistant director of NBI 7, was summoned to the office of NBI Director Dante Gierran to be investigated.
The shabu laboratory was raided by the military and police last Nov. 26.
“Hindi naman totoo yan pero di muna ako magbigay... kasi may abogado na’ko, yun ang advice sa’kin ng lawyer ko (That’s not true but I will not comment anymore… because that was my lawyer’s advice),” Isidoro said in a radio dyAB report.
He also said that no charges have been filed against him.
“Wala namang charges
na na- file against sa akin. Under investigation lang (I’m just under investigation),” he said.
Isidoro confirmed that he already received the relief order, saying he is currently in Manila with the agency’s Internal Affairs Division.
Isidoro also used to head the NBI’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Division.
The shabu laboratory was discovered by members of the Police Regional Office 5 in coordination with the Philippine Army. It contained high-technology equipment used to make shabu.
In a GMA News report, a team of intelligence agents has been mobilized to investigate Isidoro’s alleged drug links, Gierran said.
