STROKES AND STROBES OF COLORS
Abrush guided by an artist’s hand is only an instrument for expressing one’s self, however, it can definitely play a part on the outcome of a masterpiece.
On Oct. 22 and 23, a Color and Calligraphy fair was held by National Book Store featuring great finds now available in its stores for art enthusiasts everywhere. Here are a few of the things that were found and were featured to help
artists make their masterpieces shine.
Caran d’Ache Color Pencils (Supracolor Soft).
This Swissmade brand had just recently collaborated with National Book Store after having celebrated its centennial anniversary last year. These color pencils have water soluble lead which can be turned into watercolor if one wishes to do so. These pencils come in dual purpose for cases where the artists need handy watercolor instruments.
Chameleon Color Tones (Pen Blends).
These watercolor pens change their hue with every stroke one makes. From light to dark, this new line is perfect for huge spaces on coloring books or artworks. Also known as one-pen blends, these instruments perfectly create shades and imbed depth and value to images.
Grumbacher Oil Paint. This brand was founded in 1905 by Max Grumbacher; this world-reknowned brand
used to specialize in manufacturing brushes but having closely worked with artists the brand decided to expand to creating lines of acrylic, oil and even watercolor paints. This oil paint helps create a finishing touch that is coveted by artists.
Marvy Uchida (Fabric Markers).
Permanent alcohol-based markers perfect for calligraphy on merchandise whether shirts or shoes for self-expression and wearable art. These markers come in varying tips for customizable art whether it be broad or fine or anything in between.
Marvy Uchida (Bistro Chalk Markers).
For allergies, these things are perfect because with these, chalk can now be part of one’s art. No more looking for alternatives because of its annoying side effects, these pens will not make one sneeze and still are able to achieve that chalk mark appearance. These pens can be used on blackboards, whiteboards, light boards, windows and windshields.
Pilot (Uni-Ball Air Pen). This pen modifies one’s handwriting or lettering skills by changing the intensity of its stroke by the weight of one’s hand. The pen is novel in a way for it does not have a rolling ball on its edge unlike the usual types of pens. (FOTOS FROM THE INTERNET)
