Barangay volunteers to get cash today

-

THE Cebu Provincial Government will start distributing cash incentives to barangay volunteers tomorrow.

The distribution, to be led by Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, will be for the barangay health workers, tanods, day care workers, barangay animal health aid volunteers, barangay nutrition scholars in Camotes Island.

“We will begin to distribute the cash incentives in Camotes Island,” said Loreza Mae Lapinid, Nutritionist Dietitian.

Each barangay tanod will receive P1,500, while the barangay volunteers will receive P2, 400.

There are 7,901 barangay tanods who will be receiving cash incentives in the province’s southern towns, which has an allotment of P11,851,500. The north, which has a share of P10,915,500, will give incentives to 7,277 barangay tanods.

A total of 4,542 barangay health workers will receive incentives in the south area, which has an allotment of P10,900,800.

Some 4,411 barangay health workers in the north area, which has a share of P10,586,400, will receive their incentives.

There are 766 day care workers in the southern towns and 720 in the north, both have an allocation of P3,566,400.

About 482 barangay animal health aide volunteers will receive an allotment of P1,156,800.

Some 1,241 barangay nutrition scholars will receive cash incentives from the P2,978,400 allotment.

Lapinid said the schedule of distribution of cash incentives depends on the schedule of the governor.

She said the issuance of cash incentives may last until next year because of the numerous barangay volunteers to be taken cared of.

The distribution of cash incentives is done every Christmas or at the end of every year.
