6 Rider Omega Pro Triathlon Team members complete full Ironman distance in Australia
SIX members of Rider Omega Pro Triathlon Team completed their first full distance Ironman in the SunSmart Ironman Western Australia in Busselton, Australia last weekend.
Cebuanos Lorna Amor, Alton Amor, Franz Baguio, Jeffrey Codino, June Marq Ocaña and May Anne Mares braved the daunting 3.8-kilometer swim, 180K bike and 42K run race.
Baguio was the team’s fastest to finish the Ironman course with a time of 11 hours, 20 minutes and 34 seconds and was ranked 71st in the men’s 30-34 age group. He came out from the water in 1:04:24, finished the bike in 5:24:35 and completed the run portion in 4:33:21.
Codino finished the course in 11:54:23 and was ranked 99th in the men’s 35 to 39. He timed 1:36:01 in the swim, navigated the bike course in 5:54:36 and completed the race with 4:05:36 in the run part.
Alton clocked 12:48:06 seconds and was ranked 119th in the men’s 45 to 49 age group. He completed the swim in 1:25:55, finished the bike course in 6:05:01 and clocked 4:54:42 in the run portion.
In the women’s race, Ocana was the fastest female for Omega Pro as she completed the race in 13:56:29 and was ranked 43rd in the women’s 4044 class. She clocked 1:47:57 in the swim, timed 7:10:35 in the bike and finished the marathon in 4:43:33.
Lorna crossed the finish line in 14:08:32 and was 30th in the women’s 45 to 49 division. She clocked 1:42:31 in the swim, 6:49:57 in the bike and 5:13: 42 in the run.
Mares submitted a time of 14:39:16 and was ranked 48th in the women’s 40 to 44 division. She timed 1:44:29 in the swim, 6:50:47 in the bike and 5:44:26 in the run.
