18 drug suspects, including minor, arrested in police raids

EIGHTEEN persons, including a 16-year-old, were caught during anti-illegal drugs operations in Cebu City over the weekend.

At 10:45 a.m. last Saturday, the Alcantara police received a phone call from a resident regarding a pot session inside the Philippine Independen­t Church (PIC) cemetery in Barangay Polo, Alcantara.

When they arrived in the area, SPO1 Nestor Tonilon saw two unidentifi­ed persons fleeing from a pot session at the graveyard beside a three-story pantheon.

Someone shouted, “There are policemen!” The authoritie­s, however, were still able to catch three suspects.

They will be charged with Sec. 7, Arti- cle II of RA 9165 for being at a drug den.

In Cebu City, the Fuente police caught six persons in Barangay Kamputhaw during an Oplan Double Barrel Alpha operation.

Suspects

The suspects were identified as Rico Durens, 33, Jovert Alcoriza, 38, Jacky Legaria, 28, Donald Cosal, 23, Alexander Luna, 37 and Murli “Bolantoy” Gangaram.

Cosal and Luna allegedly came from a pot session, with drug parapherna­lia still in their possession.

Police confiscate­d an improvised shot gun loaded with two bullets and five small sachets of shabu from Gangaram.

Police Station 10 in Punta Prinsesa also rounded up Marilou Dela Peña, 38, and Edgardo Albano, 36, on A. Lopez St. in Barangay Labangon and F. Llamas St., in Barangay Punta Prinsesa.

A small sachet of shabu was confiscate­d from Glenn Lumanog, 29, in Barangay Mambaling and Charlie Dac-ong, 23, in Barangay Inayawan.

Police Station 1 also arrested Engelbert Bayker, 27, for carrying a .22 magnum revolver with a bullet, and a small sachet of shabu.

In Barangay San Nicholas, Jeffrey Sedillo, 23, Allan Sedillo, 18, and Roel Plaza, 28, were caught carrying drug parapherna­lia.

Norman Gorial, 39, was also caught with two small sachets of shabu while the Talamban police nabbed Edmar Egana, 24 and John Talisic for theft and for carrying two small sachets of shabu and drug parapherna­lia.
