13 informants get P7M reward
A TOTAL of 13 civilian informants received a total of P7,116,911.50 in cash rewards from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during its regular flagraising ceremony at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City yesterday.
PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña commended the informants identified through their codenames: Kalbo, Master, June, Agi, Boy, Dexter, Chad, Hero, D1, Butterfly, Toni, Sierra Oscar and Mike, for providing anti-drug information that led to the seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of drug personalities under the PDEA Operation: Private Eye.
The Operation Private Eye rewards committee, composed of members from the academe, non-government organizations, law enforcement, religious and business sectors, ap- proved a resolution granting a total of P7,116,911.50 monetary rewards to the 13 informants.
Among the informants, “Kalbo” and “Master” received the biggest reward of P2,000,000 each.
Kalbo’s information resulted in the recovery of 180,903.10 grams of shabu, in Barangay Culao, Claveria, Cagayan last June 3.
June
“June” was rewarded with P884,202.32 after he supplied information to PDEA Special Enforcement Service that led to the seizure of 11.695 kilograms of shabu and the arrest of three drug personalities during a buy-bust operation along Sta. Maria Bypass Road in Bulacan on May 15, 2016.
“Agi” received P565,400 by informing PDEA that resulted in the dismantling of a small scale clandestine shabu laboratory, the arrest of two drug personalities and the confiscation of 842 pieces of ecstasy tablets during an entrapment operation in California Garden Square, Mandaluyong City on Aug. 25.
Boy
A cash reward of P500,000 was also given to “Boy” after supplying information resulting in the dismantling of a small scale clandestine shabu laboratory and the arrest of seven drug suspects following a search in Barangay San Ildefonso Magalang, Pampanga last Sept. 7.
“Dexter” received P381,465.74 cash award after giving information that led to the seizure of 4,899.31 grams of shabu and the arrest of three drug personalities in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City last April 7.
A reward of P309,879.54 was given to “Chad” who tipped PDEA resulting in the seizure of 7,092.91 grams of marijuana, 9,280 pieces of Diazepam, 10 pieces of Zolpidem, 7,871 pieces of Nitrazepam and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong City last June 17.
“Hero” received P164,126.14 cash award after supplying information to PDEA that led to the seizure of 1,987.9 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities following an entrapment operation in an open parking lot of SM Sucat, Parañaque City last April 27.
Meanwhile, informant “D1” received P129,540 for that led to the seizure of 2,012 pieces of ecstasy tablets and the arrest of one drug personality during a controlled delivery operation in Paco, Manila last May 24.
Butterfly
“Butterfly” was rewarded with P81,325.22 after she informed PDEA RO10 that led to the seizure of 1,939 grams of shabu and the arrest of four drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Gaisano Mall Carpark, Barangay Villa Verde, Iligan City last March 3.
“Toni” was given P59,636.84 for information that resulted in the confiscation of 602.5628 grams of shabu and the arrest of one drug personality during a buy-bust operation in Regency Subd., Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City on April 10, 2016.
“Sierra Oscar” received P25,440 after he provided information resulting in the seizure of 212 pieces of ecstasy tablets and the arrest of one drug personality during an entrapment operation in the parking lot of California Garden Square, Mandaluyong City last Sept. 8.
“Mike” was rewarded with P15,895.70 after he supplied information that led to the recovery of 317,914 ml of Methyl Ethyl Ketone in Barangay Malekkeg, Sta. Marcela, Apayao last Aug. 6.
The Operation ‘ Private Eye’ is a citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of private citizens to report illegal drug activities in their communities.
