POLICE shot two and killed two suspected drug pushers in separate operations in Moalboal and Naga City over the weekend.

Operatives seized 65 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu worth more than P700,000, along with two .45 pistols, in the Moalboal operation.

In Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, a suspected drug personality was executed by two men riding a motorcycle last Saturday afternoon.

Armando Espinosa Nituda, 33, died after bullets tore through his head, back and left hand. He was having his motorcycle repaired when the unknown assailants shot him.

Investigators recovered seven empty shells fired from a .9mm in the crime scene. The victim, who had surrendered during Oplan Tokhang, had a pending drug case.

At 5 a.m. yesterday in Naga, Amelito Adlawan Alfan-

te succumbed to gunshot wounds in the chest after he allegedly fired at the operatives led by Senior Insp. Adrian Nalua. The suspect was brought to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

‘Bubble’

Nalua’s team tried implement the arrest warrant against Alfante for a pending drug case in court in the latter’s home in Sitio Tabtuy, Barangay Tuyan.

The suspect did not surrender, and instead allegedly resisted arrest by pulling out his gun and firing at the police.

One of the operatives retaliated and hit Alfante, reportedly known as “Buwa” (Bisaya for “bubble”) in the drug world because he had escaped arrest on several occasions.

Last June 26, police raided Alfante’s house, but he escaped. The suspect’s brother, Cecilio, and Valerie Jan Evangelista were caught during the operation.

Other suspected junkies Marvie Tapdasan and Buwa’s relatives Gavie, Eugenio and Marciano were arrested in another house, allegedly sniffing shabu.

Police seized 7.6 grams of shabu worth P85,306, a value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

Moalboal

In Sitio Bantayan 2, Barangay Basdiot, Moalboal, a joint team of the Regional Special Operations Group, Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and the town police killed Joselito Tapales in an alleged shootout.

Insp. Ian Macatangay led the joint team in conducting a buy-bust against Tapales, a high-value target who was the top eighth sus- pected drug personality in the town.

Tapales’s father Luisito, 61, and Samuel Bagayo Sael, 39, were also arrested.

In 2010, a provincial police team caught Tapales and a cohort in a buy-bust inside a beach resort in Basdiot.

Four years earlier, the National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas filed rape and murder charges against Tapales and three others over the death of a 16-year-old girl in 2005.

Wanted

In Barangay Mompeller, Argao, police arrested Patrick Estimada, who has pending arrest warrant for frustrated murder, yesterday.

Their target was Estimada’s nephew, suspected drug pusher Janus Cyprian Estimada, but he was not at home during the raid.

Two big packs of shabu worth more than P140,000 were seized from Janus’s house.
