City to set up shop in Robinsons Galleria
Business owners can renew permits starting Jan. 3
STARTING on Jan. 3, business owners in Cebu City can renew their permits at the one-stop shop that will be established by City Hall inside Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
For 2017, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) targets to collect P1.6 billion in business taxes and permit fees.
Mayor Tomas Osmeña and Floramie Vega, regional operations manager of Robinsons Land Corp., the developer of Robinsons Galleria Cebu, signed yes- terday a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the partnership.
In an interview, Vega said it will be the first time for the mall to hold such an activity in partnership with the City Government since they just started their operation last year.
Under the MOA, Robinsons will provide a space at the ground floor where the one-stop shop for renewal of business permits will put up.
It will operate during mall hours, starting 10 a.m.
Robinsons offered the space to the City for free every January until 2019.
Vega said the one-stop shop for business permit renewal will complement their Lingkod Pinoy Center, which offers various government services.
Penalties
Vega assured that the mall management and City Hall are prepared for the influx of people that will avail themselves of the service.
The one-stop shop will operate inside the mall until Jan. 27, which is the deadline set by CTO for the renewal of business permits.
City Treasurer Tessie Camarillo reminded all taxpayers to pay their dues on time to avoid penalties.
“They may visit Robinsons Galleria for the renewals but they should come early, so they will be accommodated first,” she said.
Business operators who fail to renew their permits on time will be charged 25 percent plus two-percent interest per month, Camarillo added.
