A PORTION of Osmeña Blvd. will be closed to vehicular traffic from noon to 4 p.m. tomorrow to give way to contingents of the Sinulog sa Kabataan-Lalawigan sa Sugbo 2017.

The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) said the closure will start from the portion of Osmeña Blvd., in front of Cebu Provincial Capitol, to Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Dancing contingents from the towns and other cities in the province will assemble in front of Capitol before proceeding to CCSC for their ritual showdown.

Lawyer Rafael Christopher Yap, acting department head of CCTO, said at least 80 traffic enforces will be fielded in the area to guide drivers on alternative routes.

“We are asking those who will witness the activity not to bring their vehicles or park in areas not close to where the rerouting is because traffic is really expected during that day,” Yap said.

All vehicles from Barangay Guadalupe and nearby areas that used to access the Osmeña Blvd., in going to the downtown area will have to take V. Rama as an option.

Public utility jeepneys (PUJ) with route 03B or those from Barangay Mabolo will have to turn left to F. Ramos St., instead of taking Fuente Osmeña Circle in going to the downtown area.

Drivers of public and private vehicles from Barangays Lahug and Apas will have to go straight to Gorordo Ave., turn right to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to F. Ramos St. in go- ing to Colon area.

From Ayala Center Cebu terminal, drivers of PUJs with routes 12L and 06H are asked to take V. Rama Ave., left turn to N. Bacalso Ave., left turn to Osmeña Blvd., right turn to N. Escario St., then to their destination in Barangay Labangon and Guadalupe, respectively.

CCTO advised motorists and drivers and other road users to follow traffic signs installed on entry points of roads affected by the rerouting to avoid traffic congestion.
