17 WHO ROBBED KIM K. CAUGHT
Seventeen people have been arrested in relation to the robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris last October. E! News, based on the report of French newspaper Le Monde, said one of the 17 suspects was a limo driver from an “upscale limousine company” that the Kardashians frequently hire during their numerous visits to Paris.
While Kim is relieved that there has been an update on her robbery, according to Us Weekly magazine, any progress made on the incident makes her relive everything that happened.
“It’s still very tough for her to deal with,” the source said.
E! News, which belongs to the same network that airs the Kardashian family reality show, also got confirmation from Paris police that a 27-year-old limo driver is in custody related to the multi-million-dollar heist.
The driver was reportedly the last to chauffer Kim before the robbery, hence, was privy to her movements.
Le Monde also reported that of the 17 suspects, three were women. The oldest suspect was 72 years old and goes by the name of Pierre B, the alleged leader. Five of the suspects were known burglars with an average age of 55.
E! also learned that police had to break down the gate of Pierre’s villa located in the south of France.
The lead for Paris police came in the form of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) found in a hose clamp believed to have been used to rob Kim. The DNA matched one that was already in the police records of a man arrested for armed robbery.
The police reportedly spent days watching the CCTV (closed circuit television) cameras surrounding the posh “No Address Hotel.”
On Oct. 3, robbers allegedly held Kim at gunpoint inside her room. The robbers ran away with almost $11 million worth of jewelry including her 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring, which Kanye West had upgraded.
Just days before the heist, Kim posted a photo of the ring on social media.
Kim was alone in her room because she had sent her bodyguard to look after older sister Kourtney Kardashian and younger sister Kendall Jenner, who were partying at a night club. A friend, Simone Harouche, was staying at a room downstairs. She locked herself in the bedroom when she heard the commotion.
Kim’s wrists and ankles were reportedly bound with zip ties by men who were dressed as police officers. Once they were done with the robbery, they left Kim in the bathtub.
