KRIS PLEADS TO DIGONG FOR PNOY

When Kris Aquino texted President Duterte not to send her brother, Noynoy, to jail over the Mamasapano fiasco, Duterte said he told her he just wanted to know the truth about the massacre of SAF troops.

Not his habit to send his political rivals to jail, Duterte said. He didn’t add: “It was your brother who jailed Gloria Arroyo and a number of senators.” What should bother Kris is that once the evidence would be made public, the machinery of justice would just roll, except when powerful people intervene. That was what she probably meant.

DUMPIT WOULDN’T FIT

Not only because he’s a cop, SPO1 Adonis Dumpit is a cop with some cloud of doubt over his character. He was convicted of killing a suspect and is on bail pending resolution of his appeal. And, he has to be appointed by the President, through DILG as Ermita acting brgy. captain. The mayor’s authority won’t apply here.

GODO & ‘MAGNIFICENT 7’

A magazine clipping sent to Bzzzzz shows an essay in “Esquire Philippines” titled “How It All Started” by Elmer A. Ordoñez. He writes of the old days of U.P. Diliman’s student publication, the militant “Collegian.” Before Ordoñez left for abroad, he wrote, “I saw a group of seven writers picketing the U.S. Embassy.”

They were protesting the Roe Deal -- in which U.S. sergeant Roe shot and killed a boy. They were called the “Magnificent Seven.”

Godo Roperos, one of the Magnificent Seven, who hails from Balamban was one of the Collegian editors who joined professional journalism. He was editor of “Sunday Times” magazine before he returned to Cebu. For several years, he wrote a column and editorials for SunStar.

‘Kris, I’m not out to find fault. I just want to know the truth.’
