Napolcom okays combat pay increase

- PNA

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has raised the combat duty pay and combat incentive pay of Philippine National Police uniformed personnel involved in actual police operations.

Interior Secretary and Napolcom chairman Ismael Sueno said Friday the combat duty pay was increased to P3,000 from the current P500.

This will be given to police officers engaged in actual police operations, patrol duties, anti-terrorism activities, and those assigned at the regional headquarters, including national support unit headquarters performing support to counter-insurgency and anti-criminality operations and those injured in police or combat operations.

Those providing security to the President and his family will also benefit from the combat pay increase.

According to Napolcom, uniformed personnel who engage in actual combat against members of various insurgent, terrorist and lawless elements will receive an additional P300 per day, if the operation is covered by a PNP Mission Order; if the personnel are in the published task organization of the PNP Mission Order; and if the personnel’s total additional combat incentive pay does not exceed P3,000 per month.

The newly implemented combat duty pay and combat incentive will be retroactive from Sept. 1, 2016./
