PHLPOST OFFERS LOVE RUSH DELIVERY

Love is in the air, with the celebration of Valentine’s Day only a day away.

The Philippine Postal Service Corp. (PHLPost) announced it is offering express delivery service for those who are planning to send some special items to their beloved tomorrow, Feb. 14.

Marilyn Omar, PHLPost Cebu Central Post Office postmaster, said that on or before the Valentine’s Day, the agency offers express delivery service of Valentine cards, roses or any other items for their loved ones.

She said that the Valentine’s Day program, Love Express Service, of the PHLPost was launched in the 1990s.

Omar said that while text and social messaging are very popular nowadays, a good letter written from the heart is a better gift to a loved one.

She said that interested letter senders can have an arrangement with the PHLPost to have their messages sent to their loved ones on Valentine’s Day. Such arrangement have been done before and many of the letter senders have memorable experiences.

The sender can also choose the specific time they want their items delivered, Omar added.

In last year’s celebration of Valentine’s Day, Omar said that she received feedback from a registered nurse who admitted that she cried when she got a bouquet of roses delivered by a PHLPost mailman while she was on graveyard duty in one of the hospitals in Cebu.

“Nihilak siya kay (She cried because) she was very busy and she didn’t expect to receive flowers at midnight,” said Omar.

The service charge for express delivery is worth P100, and postmen can deliver within Cebu, Bohol and the whole Eastern Visayas. /
