As if 2017 couldn’t start any better, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is giving Filipinos more reasons to be excited by launching new routes via the Queen City of the South.

PAL is offering five new domestic routes which will allow travelers, especially Cebuanos, to reach their destinations without having the need to transit in Manila.

Launched last Jan. 30, PAL now offers direct flights from Cebu to Clark. This four-times-aweek flight will be increased to daily flights starting March 26.

On March 26, PAL will also operate four new local direct flights—a four-times-a-week Cebu to Puerto Princesa, a three-times-a-week Cebu to General Santos City, and Cebu to Surigao. Last, is a daily Cebu to Coron (Busuanga) flight.

The flights to Puerto Princesa and General Santos City will use the 156-seater A320 aircraft. However, flights to Surigao will use the 76-seater Q400, while those headed to Coron will use the Q300.

With these new routes, there will be a total of 12 domestic points linked to Cebu, apart from Manila. PAL is serious with its desire for a major expansion through its new marketing campaign, going along with the announcement of a new corporate vision—to be a five star airline within five years.

With PAL’s aim to rejoin the league of the world’s best airlines, PAL acquired seven new aircrafts: Two Boeing 777300ERs and five Airbus A321s, bringing the PAL fleet to 81 by year-end.

The expanded fleet helped increase flight frequencies in the country and allowed PAL to fly to new international routes via Cebu. Cebu-Singapore and Cebu-Los-Angeles flights were launched last year.
