■ "ONE TIME BIG TIME" OPERATION IN CEBU CITY NABS 106 PERSONS

Most of those arrested were involved in illegal drugs and illegal gambling.

Most of the 106 persons who were arrested during a One Time Big Time operation conducted by Cebu City police last Friday afternoon were involved in illegal gambling and illegal drugs. Some 57 persons were caught for illegal gambling while 19 persons were caught for engaging in the illegal numbers game. Police also nabbed 10 suspected drug users and pushers and three persons for carrying firearms. The warrant section of the Cebu City Police Office also served 15 arrest warrants. “They should just stop because we will catch them all,” said Supt. Ryan Devaras, chief of the Investigat­ion and Detective Management Branch.

The Cebu City police arrested 106 persons during their One-Time BigTime (OTBT) operations last Friday afternoon.

Supt. Ryan Devaras, chief of the Investigat­ion and Detective Management Branch (IDMB), said that most of the persons they caught were involved in illegal gambling and illegal drugs.

“They should just stop because we will catch them all,” Devaras said.

There were 57 persons arrested for violating Presidenti­al Decree (PD) 1602, which penalizes persons involved in illegal gambling, while 19 persons were caught for violation Republic Act 9287, which penalizes individual­s who engage in illegal numbers games. Devaras said that they also caught 10 suspected drug users and pushers who were carrying shabu and three persons for carrying firearms.

The warrant section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) also served 15 arrest warrants.

Two suspected thieves were also caught.

The authoritie­s confiscate­d shabu estimated to be worth P19, 264, three caliber .38 revolvers, a knife, 18 video carrera and moli-moli machines and P3,613 cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal activities.

The separate operations, which were conducted in different barangays in Cebu City, started at 2 p.m. and ended at around 5 p.m.
