DOUBLE MEDAL FOR CEBU’S TREMEDAL

Cebuano archer Rogelio Miguel Tremedal pulls off twinkill in Phil. National Outdoor Archery Tournament and Phil. Cup Finals after winning the qualifying and Olympic Rounds of Jr. Recurve

Cebuano Rogelio Miguel Tremedal scored a double gold medal finish in the 2017 Philippine National Outdoor Archery Tournament and Philippine Cup Finals and Youth Olympic Games 2nd Qualifier and Evaluation tournament at the Camp Lapu-Lapu Parade Grounds in Apas, Cebu City.

Tremedal scored 616 points to win the Junior Recurve for Men gold medal both in the Qualifying and Olympic Rounds to elevate the status of the Cebu Archery Club in the national level.

Allan Drei Requipo of La Union Archery Associatio­n prevented a 1-2 finish for the Cebuano archers as he won the silver medal after scoring a total of 604 points as Vincent Villa also of the Cebu Archery Club copped the bronze medal with his 587 points.

The women's gold and silver went to Loren Balaoing and Shanaya Dangla of University of Baguio Archery Club respective­ly with Maria Mikayla Avelina Yambao of Manila Archery Club winning the bronze medal.

Women's top seed and Philippine­s ace archer Kareel Meer Hongitan of the University of Baguio Archer Club walked away with the gold medal in the Seniors Recurve competitio­n after shooting a total of 592 points, which was 14 points ahead of the silver medal winner Mary Queen Ybañez of La Union, who scored 578 points, and Andrea Orbeta of Manila Polo Club Archery Team, who won the bronze medal.

In the Men's category, Flor Matan of Manila Polo Club snagged the gold medal with his 623 points, beating Luis Gabriel Moreno of Archery Dream Club, who win the silver medal with his 610 and Mark Javier, who scored 598 points.

Moreno, however, defeated Matan for the gold medal in the Olympic Round with Javier settling for the bronze medal.

The other gold medal winners include Martin Antoine Pinili in the Junior Compound Men class, Joseph Benjamin Vicencio (Senior Compound Men), Ruben Santiago in the Masters category while Jennifer Chan copped the Women's Seniors Compound gold.

In the Olympic Round, James Michael Exclamador won the Cadet Men's Recurve gold with Nicole Marie Tagle winning the Girls side and Steve De Sosa won the Barebow class, Mary Queen Ybañez won the Women Recurve Senior gold, Early Yap winning the senior Compound Men's gold.
