MHAM HOLDS RELIEF OPS FOR QUAKE-HIT SURIGAO

-

Boxes of drinking/distilled water collected by the Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine were brought to the ABS-CBN Cebu’s Tabang Patrol for Surigao through its Halad Kapamilya Relief Operations at the Fuente Osmeña rotunda. The school particularly asked for water as a donation since water supply in the quake-stricken areas in Surigao del Norte is scarce after last month’s tremor damaged some water pipes.

The Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine (MHAM CM) initiated a relief operation to help survivors of the 6.7-magnitude earthquake that hit Surigao City last Feb. 10.

A donation area was set up inside the school premises where donors can deposit the items for the quake-hit Surigaonons.

The school particularly asked for drinking/distilled water from the donors as water supply in Surigao was scarce becuase some water pipes were damaged by the quake.

Dr. Carlito Astillero, MHAM’s board of trustees and corporate treasurer, said the initiative was in solidarity with the survivors.

The boxes of bottled water and other items donated by students, staff and the school’s Community Extension Services were then brought to the ABS-CBN Cebu’s Tabang Patrol for Surigao through its Halad Kapamilya Relief Operations in Fuente Osmeña rotunda, Cebu City.

The turnover of donated items was led by MHAM CM Internal Affairs director Jarvis Prochina, Community Extension Services Office director Dr. Ma. Yvonne Lanuza, associate dean Dr. Allan Librando and some Student Council officers.
