WHAT EXACTLY DID DU30 SAY TO DINO?

Some people still talked about it days after President Duterte’s speech at the launching of the Cebu-Cordova bridge project: What exactly did Duterte say to Presidential Asstistant for the Visayas Michael Dino?

Even as Duterte was still speaking last Thursday (March 2), the grapevine quoted him as allegedly saying to Dino, “Amigo pa mo ni Mayor (Tomas) Osmeña? Ihulog unya diha sa bridge.”

What Duterte said, according to a more reliable-source: “Amigo pa mo ni Mayor Osmeña? Tagbo mo diha sa bridge, unya wala’y mobigay.”

WHAT QUOTE TELLS US

A City Hall watcher says Duterte’s reference to the Tomas-Dino feud meant: The President knew it was going on, what it was all about. Duterte was telling Tomas and the rest of Cebu that Dino was his man. Reenforcing the second meaning was Duterte’s statement that Dino helped him in Cebu in his bid for the presidency when nobody else did.

WERE THEY SKIPPED?

Mayor Osmeña was not addressed in the salutatory part of Duterte’s speech. His name was mentioned only when the President asked Dino about his squabble with the mayor.

But so was Cebu Gov. Junjun Davide. (To the left of business tycoon Manny Pangilinan were legislative liaison officer and representing Cordova, Ade Sitoy, Davide and Mayor Tomas, all wearing white hardhats). Ade was mentioned but not Junjun or Tomas?

FOREIGNERS IN DAVAO

The “expose” on Davao killings, which the Senate has resumed looking into, included yesterday 12 foreigners: 11 Chinese and one Taiwanese who were allegedly ordered killed by then mayor Duterte, according to Davao City retired SPO1 Arturo Lascañas.

The “foreign element” may draw reaction from concerned countries.
