■ FOREIGNER WHO 'PREYS' ON YOUNG VIRGINS ARRESTED

-

A Japanese national was arrested yesterday for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl inside his vehicle last February. Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 7 planned an entrapment operation against Takeshi Kon, 50, after he tried to contact the victim again. Kon, who has been living in Lapu-Lapu City for 15 years, reportedly prefers young virgins, and he is feared to have victimized other girls. Kon will face charges for violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and Republic Act 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law.

“He prefers girls who are chaste. Girls who are virgins.”

This was how Supt. Royina Garma, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 7, described 50-year-old Takeshi Kon who had been living in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City for 15 years.

Kon was arrested during an entrapment operation inside a mall in Mandaue City when he tried to contact again 15-year-old Nina (real name withheld) at 2 p.m. yesterday

Garma believes that Kon will sexually exploit the minor again.

Nina suffered trauma in her private parts after she was allegedly raped by Kon in the last week of February inside his sports utility vehicle. That, after he was rejected by a pension house for bringing a minor.

“The girl’s own friend was the one who introduced her to him, saying that it was purely just friendship. After the act, the suspect gave her P1,000 as payment,” Garma said.

Kon refused to be interviewed about the matter.

Garma said that Nina’s friend couldn’t be found anymore.

The victim told the police that Kon allegedly victimized other girls like her.

“Because he has been living here for a long time, we are not discounting the possibility that he has more victims,” Garma said.

“So to all victims of this Japanese national, I would like to invite them in my office and testify against him in court,” she added.

CIDG will be coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development 7 for the psy- chological intervention and stress debriefing of the victim.

Kon is a manager of a pension house in Lapu-Lapu. Its owner is based in Japan.

Kon will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act as well as Republic Act 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law. /
