■ BRIDGESTONE DONATES TO I CAN SERVE FOUNDATION
Tire manufacturer Bridgestone helped raise funds for I Can Serve Foundation’s campaign to raise awareness on breast cancer by donating the proceeds of the sale of its limited edition pink tire valve caps amounting to P478,240. The money will be used to promote information advocacy on breast cancer.
The tire manufacturer wants to spread awareness about breast cancer
As the world’s premier tire manufacturer, Bridgestone knows all about safety.
In 2016, Bridgestone joined hands with the I Can Serve Foundation in the Philippines to address the need for a wider awareness on breast cancer.
According to the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women. Breast cancer also accounts for 28 percent of total cancer cases among women. This puts the Philippines at the heart of the battle against breast cancer in Asia.
The disease has become so common that it is estimated that one in every 13 Filipino women is expected to develop breast cancer in her lifetime. But far more than what these troubling numbers reveal, breast cancer gives rise to the incalculable cost of human lives broken.
Now the fight against breast cancer begins with awareness. This is where Bridgestone comes in. Last October, Bridgestone released its limited edition pink tire valve caps to mark the launch of the “Together We Save Lives” campaign.
For only P100 a set, everyone could lend a hand by purchasing these limited edition valve caps.
Proceeds from last year’s drive, which amounted to P478,240, were turned over to the I Can Serve Foundation Inc. to support its information advocacy on breast cancer.
This year, Bridgestone and I Can Serve look forward to a deeper and more meaningful involvement in this advocacy as they strive to accompany women in their journey to a breast cancer-free future.
