- BY IVAN CARLO M. CORRIENTE

The students of TC 325-Events Management classes of the Department of Hospitality Management of the Cebu Technological University-Moalboal Campus had the annual Tourism and Hospitality Expo 2017 last Feb. 23. The activity was part of the course requirements to enhance student competence. With the theme “Tourism & Hospitality Expo: Delivering and Showcasing Students’ Acquired Skills & Competencies,” the activity focused on the application of what they learned in the course.

The event served as a culminating activity of all major courses of the Department of Hospitality Management where outputs of these subjects were showcased and displayed.

The culminating event aimed to provide a conceptual overview and a systematic study of event programming, management and marketing, practical applications, and to synthesize the skills to successfully plan, market and implement a large event as part of a team. It also taught students to apply a variety of sound decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving techniques in events organizing.

It will also foster professionalism in event management.

The highlight of the “Tourism & Hospitality Expo 2017” included the first ever Search for Miss HM Ambassador of Goodwill 2017.
